Kerry Matthew Stokes holds business interests in a diverse range of
industries including electronic and print media, property, mining, and
construction equipment. He is best known as the chairman of the Seven
Network, one of the largest broadcasting corporations in Australia. The
Australian business tycoon has very extraordinary beginnings. His mother
gave him up for adoption and as a result of that, he was adopted out to
Matthew and Irene Stoke. He dropped out of school at age 14. He built
up his company by selling Caterpillar tractors and trucks in Australia
and eventually China before moving into media with his seven group.
