In September of 2011, his foundation, Sumner M. Redstone donated $1.5 million to eradicate extreme poverty. The foundation also funded The End of Polio Concert, drawing more than $100 million in donations from around the world, including $40 million in funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
