American media mogul, television host, actress, producer, and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey has an estimated net worth of $3 billion as of May 2015 according to Forbes which made her one of the richest African-Americans, and one of the most lucrative brands in the world. Winfrey tops the 2009 inaugural Forbes list of the Wealthiest Black American. She is the only African-American billionaire on the Forbes 2011  list of billionaires.

The queen of daytime TV is now the queen of cable, Winfrey launched her new channel called OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network in the beginning of 2011. In addition to her cable channel, Winfrey oversees a magazine and Harpo productions. She also started a school  for girls in South Africa: Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (which she invested $40 million).

Her Harpo Productions helped create the likes of Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray. She’s produced Broadway shows and has her own satellite radio channel. The self-made media mogul paid $50 million in 2001 for the 23,000-square-foot Georgian-style home she calls the “Promised Land.” Although renovations were underway when she purchased the estate, Oprah simply altered the plans to ensure they matched her style. With the chaos of construction behind her, she now enjoys the home’s mountain and ocean views in peace. The property as told by Oprah was first spotted when she was in a photo shoot at a nearby location.

Winfrey also owns a beautiful apartment in Chicago, a big house in New Jersey, an estate in Florida, a ski house in Colorado, a house in Douglasville, Georgia, and land on Maui, Hawaii and Antigua. However, currently she lives on “The Promised Land” where she has 14 bathrooms and 10 exquisite fireplaces.
