American businessman Forrest Mars. Jr. has an estimated net worth of $32.2 billion as of December 2015, according to Bloomberg.
Forrest Edward Mars Jr. was born on August 16, 1931 Oak Park, Illinois. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he attended Yale University where he completed his masteral degree. His first marriage was to Virginia Cretella who bore him four children named Victoria, Valerie, Pamela and Marijke. In 1990, he married Deborah Adair Clarke. They divorced in 2010.
Previously considered as the wealthiest Virginian, Forrest Mars Jr. is the owner of 82,000-acre land that stretches from the northern part of Powder River Basin through Tongue River in Montana.
Along with his siblings Jacqueline and John, Forrest Mars owns the giant candy manufacturing company Mars, which was valued at $33 billion. Mars is now considered as the largest candy manufacturing company in the world today.
The company was founded by their grandfather in 1911 who started with chocolate making in Tacoma Washington. In 1929, their late father Forrest Mars Sr. joined the company. Together, the father and son tandem created the malt-flavored nougat which became the basis of making Snickers and Milky Way. In 1941, Forrest Mars Sr. launched M&M. Among the company’s products include Snickers, Skittles, Twix, and 3 Musketeers.
