She co-founded the company with her boyfriend, Leonard Bosack, who later became her husband. In 1990, Sandra Lerner was fired from the company, and in support of her, Bosack resigned. After completing her political science degree from  California State University, Chico, she attended  Claremont Graduate School to finish her master’s degree in 1977. Eventually, she studied at Stanford University, where she completed her master’s degree in statistics and computer science.
Eventually, she placed a part of her stock earnings in the venture partnership known as “& Capital Partners,” and founded Urban Decay Cosmetics, which was known for the tag line “Does pink make you puke?”.
