Dutch media tycoon first struck it rich as a founding investor in production company Endemol, associated with such reality TV hits as Deal or No Deal, Fear Factor and Big Brother. Endemol was sold to Spanish telecom giant Telefonica in 2000. Four years ago, bought back into Endemol, picking up a 5% stake.Holds stake in RDF Media, which produces Wife Swap; and RTL Netherlands. Concentrating his energy these days on developing TV and multimedia shows via Talpa Media. Some of its creations: Battle of the Choirs; quiz shows Pretty Smart, Dating in the Dark and Know Your Nation.
