2014 has turned out to be Mirza's best year on court to date: She's earned $798,175 in 2014 alone, almost a fifth of her $4 million career earnings. She won the WTA Finals in Singapore and collected $500,000 along with doubles partner Cara Black. She also won the US Open Mixed Doubles with Brazilian partner Bruno Soares in September, the pair collecting $150,000. Not surprisingly then, she's moved all the way to the sixth spot in the WTA doubles rankings.
Fast Fact: The Hyderabad native was paid Rs 1 crore to be the brand ambassador of the new Indian state of Telangana.
